Leyar ("the App") is developed by Mind Lumen ("we", "us", "our"). Your privacy is fundamental to our mission. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Account Data

  • Email address (required for account creation)
  • Password (stored as a one-way SHA-256 hash — we never see your password)

Emotion Entries (Stored Locally on Your Device)

  • Emotion family selections (e.g., Joy, Sadness)
  • Intensity levels (1–3 scale)
  • Specific emotion labels (from the Willcox Feeling Wheel)
  • Timestamps of entries
  • Voice note audio recordings (M4A format)
  • Voice note transcription text

Important: Your emotion entries, voice notes, and transcriptions are stored only on your device using Apple's Core Data framework. We do not upload, transmit, or have access to this personal content.

Voice Notes & Speech Recognition

  • Voice notes are recorded using your device's microphone and stored locally
  • Speech-to-text transcription is performed entirely on your device using Apple's Speech framework — no audio is sent to any server
  • Voice note audio files are automatically deleted after 7 days; only the transcription text is retained for journaling

Anonymous Analytics

We collect minimal, anonymous usage analytics to improve the App. This data:

  • Uses a randomly generated anonymous ID that is never linked to your email address
  • Records only: emotion family name (not intensity or notes), whether an intensity was selected (yes/no), donation button taps, app open events, and daily logging frequency
  • Is sent to our backend (Supabase) only for verified accounts — trial users are never tracked
  • Contains no emotion notes, transcriptions, voice data, or raw intensity values

Notifications

  • The App may send local notifications to remind you to check in with your emotions
  • These are scheduled entirely on your device — no push notification server is used

Data Retention & Deletion

  • Voice notes: Auto-deleted after 7 days
  • Account deletion: Permanently removes your account and all associated emotion entries. Use Settings > Delete Account
  • Trial data: Stored in your device's Keychain; removed when you delete the App

Third-Party Services

  • Supabase (authentication and anonymous analytics): supabase.com/privacy
  • We do not use any third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Facebook SDK, etc.)

Data Security

  • Passwords are hashed with SHA-256 before storage
  • Sensitive identifiers are stored in Apple's Keychain
  • All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Email verification is required before full App access

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your Rights

You may:

  • Export or review your emotion data within the App
  • Delete your account and all data at any time via Settings
  • Contact us with privacy questions

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted within the App and on our website.
